Your undergraduate degree is about learning how to learn. GPA is very important. Shortly after graduating, your GPA is a very concrete data point about you that employers can look at to see how hard you work, how smart you are and how dedicated you are. After 5 - 7 years, I imagine GPA becomes less important and your accomplishments in your professional life are more important then.
Take as many opportunities as possible to get experiential learning such as internships, significant class projects like mini-consulting engagements, etc. These experiences give you a good feel for what work is really like.
