    Bryn Mawr was an eye-opening experience--to be in a community of bright women who were unafraid to work hard and be themselves was very empowering to a naive suburbanite like myself. The school taught me thoroughness, intellectual rigor, and never to compromise my principles. It is meant to teach students HOW to think, not WHAT to think. It was tough, but fun too.

    I wish I had known how valuable the experience would be. I spent a lot of time back then complaining about how much was expected of me in what was supposed to be the last free time of my life, but now I realize how much of who I am was formed there, and I am grateful. It took me about 10-15 years to figure it out.

    Students, when you look for a college be sure to talk to the alumni. We aren't dinosaurs--we are what you will become, and ask us how much of what we are we owe to that college. We will definitely tell you!
