What is Hospitality/Travel and Tourism Management Really?

In theory what is it?

It basically helps you understand the Hospitality Industry and provides for you cutting-edge information on whats expected of you there. You can learn culinary, hospitality management skills, travel/tourism, and other interesting topics that obtain to your future career.

What is it used for?

People who want to become: Hotel/Motel Managers, Convention Services Managers, travel/resort consultants, stuff like that

What does the major actually entail - work-wise?

hands on activities, internships, (field study), lectures, discussions, etc.

What kind of jobs do you get with it?

Jobs at Major hotels like, Sheraton, Hilton, Marriot, Houston, etc.

What are the fellow students like (personalitywise) in it?

open, kind, show great hospitality when helping out

Common Misconceptions

Not really any: everyone knows its a great major with a great opportunities.
