Interview (1),
ACT/SAT (5),

Essay (3) | Art & Design Department | Jun 26 2012 | Surprisingly nothing. Just filled out name and SSN. I did write an essay and gave lots of personal letters of recommendations from my high school teachers, but found them to be no help because AAU ended up not needing them.... I should've known from the application that they were a joke and only wanted my money. As long as I had above a 3.0 in high school I got a scholarship. You don't even have to have an essay when submitting an application. Get your stuff done on time. I would highly recommend doing the Honors Tutorial if you're a bright student- then you'll get both Bachelors and Masters in 5 years. I would suggest getting a high SAT or ACT score just to get as higher as possible academic scholarship. Otherwise it's not very competitive to get in. If you're applying to the College of Fine Arts, do your homework, look what's required for your audition or portfolio, double check with the faculty if you're not sure about something. Absolutely meet with them, see if you like them, and whether they like you. I highly suggest live auditions for any school. I had a detailed interview with the owner of the school, Sonia ETE. I submitted samples of garments I designed and sewed, and wrote an essay and short auto-biography. For anyone considering enrollment, put together a neatly executed portfolio (Admissions Officer Michele Meyers provides required details) and dress like you are going for a very important job interview. If you are accepted you will be expected to be very dedicated to your studies - the more you give, the more you will get! (This is NOT a party school,it is for those serious about building a career in the fashion industry, which is experiencing a lot of innovative changes.) |
