Essay (3) | Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc | Aug 25 2012 | I interviewed, wrote an essay, submitted transcripts. Art & Design Department | Aug 24 2012 | I did nothing to 'get in' really. I researched it online, found it to be thebest animation school in the area, listened to the recruiter say I could still keep my good paying job & take evening classes part time. They found the 2 stafford loans I needed, I listened to the speech about how I'd get a great job in the future, and paying back would be easy. And I started classes a week later. There are no entrance requirements per se. Students weed themselves out when they run out of money or can't keep up with classes. Classes get harder as you go along. 3rd year classes & up require non stop studying. They are fun but demanding. A lot of things are self taught, assignments are given but the student must research a lot on how to use the software to complete work. Zero tolerance on late work. It's safe to assume each class will cost $2,000 as of aug 2012. Good luck! Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
| May 08 2012 | You really don't have to try at all to get in. You have to work your ass off to get out with a portfolio that's worth anything, though.
Interior Design
| May 08 2011 | You really don't have to do anything to get into this school. The interior design program at the U of M is much better but the do only take so many people into the program. This shows me the they want a certain level of skill to advance. If you pay tuition at Ai and do the work you can pass even if you are not really talented. |
