Honestly, my SAT scores were above average, but my QPA from high school was around a 3.4 with all honors and AP. I feel that my admittance and large scholarship was heavily influenced by my letters of recommendation from two alumni, one of which who was a large donor to the college. And the money he donates obviously didn't go towards refining the housing process, because many of the people from my former class were almost left without housing for this upcoming year.
(And since I transferred, the email address was de-activated)
Taking AP classes in high school is very important.
Class rank is also very important if your HS ranks. If your HS does not rank, SAT or ACT scores become very important. Allegheny does require the SAT or ACT, and many prospective students take both.
Make sure to go to all of the college fairs that Allegheny attends and make sure to do an overnight so that you can really see what the college is like. A regular visit is not enough.
