I had to do very little to get into APUS. I sent my transcripts from my previous institutions, paid a couple of fees and I was in.

If you love automated systems, go to APUS! You will never receive help from a faculty member, because they are too busy with the thousands of military students attending. They treat you as a number, and they place your financial aid and desire to get something out of college LAST! They don't care that you are paying a large amount of money for the school.
A good way to explain the situation and what you will experience is this:
It is a For-Profit college, and the way that they operate is to minimize costs and maximize their bottom line. Therefore, by having very few people work for them, and having YOU DO ALL OF THE WORK, they don?t suffer, but you simply do by doing all the footwork and reading and emailing and mailing of forms. It is much, much, much, much, much less enjoyable than physically going to college, and brick and mortar colleges have systems in place to help you with all these things-not expect you to do them.
If you don't like taking proctored tests, this college is for you! There is never a proctored exam (as far as I have seen).
Some Professors are great, and some are absolutely horrible. Some grade assignments right away, and others I guess have full-time jobs that are more important, which puts grading 2 weeks to the right.
Don't ever expect a class to be at all similar to one you have already taken. For one class you will get a textbook from one source, then the next class you will download a pdf of the textbook, then the next you will need to create an account on some random textbook website and LOG-IN to that web site every single time you want to read the text book!!!! It's RIDICULOUS!!!! Oh, and everything is always located in different areas in the learning portal. There?s no consistency or standards in place.
And they can?t even get back to your questions within 48 hours. If you call them, you will be on the line forever, and then FINALLY asked to leave a voicemail :|.
If you email them a question, it only takes a few days for them to get back to you, and they always send an email with identity validation questions. When you answer these, it takes them another 2 or three days to get back to you!!!!!!!!!!!
All I can say is Wow.
