I had a great GPA in high school and sat scores were average, I got in as a low income student and people seem nice during the accepted students day but don't let that fool you if you are still interested try and stay with a host for accepted students day it helps with perspective.

No standardized tests, which is great! Write a good essay, be involved, get good grads. It's not too hard and they give great aid/merit packages. Although, Assumption is improving on marketing to diverse areas and they have a Rome campus. It may become slightly more competitive in years to come but for now, be a good student and you should be fine!

My SAT scores were awfulJan 09 2013Cultures/Civilization
My SAT scores were awful. but my essay was kick-ass and I'm very well-rounded so that's basically how I got in. You don't need to be the smartest person on the planet, you just need to show that you are willing to keep up with the pace. Take an unofficial tour as well as an official one if you can. Students can show you/tell you a lot of things the crappy tour guides don't really care enough to share with you.
