I showed a lot of interest by visiting BarnardMay 22 2005History/Histories (art history/etc.)
I showed a lot of interest by visiting Barnard earlier than others (my junior year of HS), contacting the admissions office frequently, and expressing my love for the college on my application. My essay also stood out from the rest. I think in my case it was less about scores and grades and more about my personal ambition and drive to succeed.

Just show them you really want to be here and you have what it takes to kick ass here. Be intelligent AND interesting. They don't want any narrow-minded bookworms here. (Although unfortunately, they've let quite a few slip through.) They want women who know how to work hard and party hard, per se.

Good test scores, high GPA, the usual. You can see the average stats of the college on its website, and the students here are definitely not academic slouches. More importantly, make it clear that you know Barnard, and that's why you want to come here. The essays are read; that, I can personally promise you.
