I was somewhat lucky, as scoring an 800 onAug 22 2010Math
I was somewhat lucky, as scoring an 800 on my SAT Math was all the selling I had to do to get in at all the schools I applied to (at the risk of bragging, but who cares what I did in HS at this point?).

To get in, though, you should definitely be well positioned amongst your peers. Most students I knew who were accepted, graduated HS with a high-B to low-A GPA, scored around 1150-1300 on the old SAT, and also participated in extracurriculars. I did know one guy who scored below 1100, but his extracurriculars were so spectacular that he was admitted.

A campus visit is enough to show interest, and from there, make sure your admissions essay is compelling and self-promoting.

Get at least a 1200 on the S.A.T. b.c admissions are getting harder every year. Make sure to have at least a 90 overal GPA and have lots of honors/ap courses on your record. I got in with 1180 s.a.t and a 94 overal average and alot of ap classes and extracurricular activities and i got a half tuition scholarship. In future years my grades wouldnt qualify me for the half tuition scholarship. Keep in mind that even though you may get in, you still need to pay for it!
High SAT score, great interest in the school, someJun 01 2006Undecided
High SAT score, great interest in the school, some financial capability (I got a scholarship, but still need to pay the rest) Extracurricular activities are strongly recommended. And partake in any pre-college event if you could to show your true plan of going to this school, not just one of the ten applications you shoot out. Good luck!
