Show your inviduality! I was an excellent student in the humanities and social sciences, and a terrible math student. But I participated in a wide array of extra-curricular activities, wrote a great essay about my experiences, and interviewed well-- all of which seemed to do the trick.

I probably did too much stuff. I was in like every school club and volunteered until the cows came home. I took the most accelerated curriculum in high school possible and was in all the honor societies. I'm not sure that you need to do any of that. I think being interested in something quirky helps. Being a minority helps. Being from another country really helps. Short of being foreign or a minority, I think just having a good gpa and ok sats is good. I had high sats and some of my friends low. BMC is really good at picking out potential. My friends with low scores still kicked my butt in gpa ... hardcore. BMC is one of the few schools that's willing to look past who you are on paper, so don't be afraid to apply if you're a bad test taker but have a high gpa.
