Write good college essays. Don't blow off high school. Be open-minded because there is a lot of diversity here.

I kept my grades to B+. It wasn't easy but I knew I had to do it. I did extra work to get my teachers to up my grades.

Not that hard to get it. I know kids who barely had a 3.0 and got in to CAS.

Definitely one of the greatest mistakes of my life was comming to this university. Its only great strength is that Boston University is in fact in Boston, probably the greatest college city in America. The only consolation is that since it is a large school it has a good mix of students and you are almost guareenteed to find fellow students and even faculty that you could laern to appreciate. But again because of its large student body there are plenty of students and faculty who are just plain asses as well. Before considering Boston University make your the major you are looking at is something you really want or something that you see yourself being able to use later in life. Remember once you matriculate at Boston University you become just another number to them.

1460 SAT, good essays, amazing recos, top 10% high school, student body president, school basketball team captain...whole lot of stuff....BU is random. Apply and hope for the best...you may end up getting into an A-grade school with a full schol, and get into BU with nothing.

I could've worked harder in high school, but i did well enough. I got a 31 on the ACT (with writing) and 1340 on the SATs. I was involved in many extracurriculars and took 10 AP tests. This may have been overkill, but it did the trick.

Wasn't hard really. Took SATs, had a mediocre GPA, but wrote a killer personal statement and had a glowing recommendation. Don't be one of 'those' people who live from AP class to AP class, beating yourself up over that awful A- you got. Just be human. Have your own goals, speak with your own voice, and don't be afraid to say something that your "How to Get into College" book forbids you constantly from saying, as long as your sincere about what you're putting across. Basically, get over getting into college and just go. The admissions folks seem to appreciate the applicants who are willing to carve their own way through, even if it might be risky.
