Essay (37) | Engineering Department | Aug 06 2005 | BU likes decent SAT and GPA's. I got a full ride with a 1230 (700M) (4.2 GPA) (1/210), but thats b/c i come from a poor community with bad english prep. Ive over that now, but Im here b.c of my ec's. If you sell yourself good enough it shouldnt be a problem. Communications | Jul 05 2005 | You either need to get good grades and good SAT scores, unless you're really wealthy, in which case you can be dumb as a stack of phone books and still get an acceptance letter. This sounds a little harsh, but I've met people who have gotten SAT scores WAY below BU's average and have gotten in (this people are generally put into the College of General Studies [CGS] or "Crayons, Glue and Scissors" as it's known around campus.)
Good SATs and GPA, showed genuine interest. Have a consistent but decent GPA above 3.0, and have your SATs above 1250. Take SAT IIs, they are key, I had a dismal academic record, but I did pretty well with my SAT IIs. Do some extracurricular work such as athletics or music for a few years, they also help. Those will give you a good chance in coming here. My results were either below or slightly above these qualities mentioned above, and yet I still got admitted... to the College of General Studies = High school part deux. |
