Getting into BW is not that hard if you have a 3Apr 11 2015Undecided
Getting into BW is not that hard if you have a 3.0+ GPA, but the judges for vocal performance auditions are condescending. I'm not just saying that because I didn't get in either. One of my private voice professors at the Conservatory was very nice, seemed to like me, was very encouraging, and offered to write my reccomendation letter. He also had me reschedule my audition so that I could be more prepared. I didn't know what I wanted to go into at first, but recently I've decided vocal performance because I've always loved singing. It 's not like I don't have any experience, I've taken private lessons since I was in high school, but it seemed like those judges were very condescending at my audition because I was on the shy and small side. I'll admit that I could have done better, I was nervous and could have conveyed the correct emotion. However, the way those judges looked at me as I walked out seemed to speak their rejection louder than words. Then, I had to wait until March, knowing inside that I wasn't going to get in all along, and when I opened up the small, thin, and short rejection letter I burst into tears. I'm not unaware of the fact that vocal performance is a competitive field, and its even more difficult for sopranos. However, the "there's no way you're getting in" look those judges gave me as I sang my aria at the audition and then walked out, made it seem like they had made their decision from the very beginning. They didn't even tell me good job when I sang, and I worked for months. I'm planning on trying out at other schools next year, even BW. At least, I learned what to expect at an audition, and can learn to improve myself. On top of that, the Conservatory advisor never answers any of my emails about a vocal performance minor, so that I can try to transfer some credits over to another school if I must. It seems like most of this school's voice faculty is very self-righteous, and doesn't reach out to non-music majors who want to get involved in smaller music degree programs.

Getting into Baldwin Wallace is the one of theJan 13 2015Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
Getting into Baldwin Wallace is the one of the easiest colleges to get into. You do not have to even take the ACT or SAT to get in. It does help to take one or the other, I took the ACT. You do have to write a paper, however the paper isn't even hard to write. Make sure to get plenty of letters of recommendation. Getting in so too easy they are not that selective and it shows.

I sent in an application. It's not that hard to get in if you have grades higher than C-range. Of course, I only ever applied as a transfer, no idea what the process is like as a HS student.
