I asked my friend to write me a recommendation. I sent in my SAT IIs, I visited the campus and had an interview.

I was off the waitlist at CC and decided to go there last minute. Originally I was deciding between University of Richmond, George Washington University, and BU. Ultimately, I wanted the small school experience not too far from home.

Academic record is most important here so take the most challenging classes you can handle and perform well. Testing is completely optional, meaning your personal qualities and leadership plays a much larger role in the decision process than most other schools. Also show interest! Interview there, visit the campus, visit the Conn. table at college fairs and high school visits. The more they think you want to go, the more likely they are to lean your way.

Truly a great place-- not to mention 3 beaches nearby!

I had pretty good grades (3.6) at a pretty difficult high school, and a lot of extracurriculars. My SAT's were pretty low, though. If you have I'd say above a 3.3, have some extra curriculars, and frankly, can pay full tuition, your chances of acceptance are pretty good. Being a guy helps a bit, too. If you can interview and show that you're social and have good interpersonal skills that helps a lot.
