Transferring with past scholarship, or some type of recognition, at the two year college is good.If a family member was an alumni, this is taken into consideration during the application and will definitely help.

I applied during CFNC week and honestly don't even remember much about the process. I just know that as long as you get all of your materials in on time and have good test scores and recommendations then you will get more from Catawba.

I filled out the application which basically just required general info and maybe a short answer or two.
After that I turned in my SAT scores and Transcript.
I was then given an admissions decision within two weeks.

Quite honestly the more you provide for them (academics, extracurriculars, etc.) the more they have to go off in giving you an admissions decision and financial aid usually in the form of a scholarship

I volunteered as well as worked through high school and I believe that those helped me get into Catawba. One bit of advice for the SAT and ACT would be to take both at least once and then whichever you do best at, take it again and possibly a 3rd time.
