I had pretty good ACT and SAT scores, honorsFeb 19 2007Business - Management and Administration
I had pretty good ACT and SAT scores, honors classes in high school, and was active in my church. I sent in my application after graduation, and was accepted, but barely in time to get to school.

If I had it to do over, I would have sent in my application much earlier, and applied for every possible scholarship that was available. I missed thousands of free dollars because of ignorance. Every free dollar I missed I had to earn. Do yourself a favor, take the time to find the scholarships and write the stupid essays. Some of that money isn't even given out every year because no one thought to apply for it.

Look for local scholarships too. One of my friends got money from her hometown WalMart and a Coca-Cola scholarship... among many other things. As long as she kept a 4.0 her schooling was a free ride. Of course, her senior year of high school was mostly writing essays, but it paid for itself later.
