I applied online and sent in like 50 bucks and was accepted.
my friend got a 18 on the act and had a gpa of 2.1 and got in as well.
if you cannot get in due to academic performance, then you should consider being checked for downs syndrome or mental retardation.
but ask yourself why you would want to come here? its a shit hole!

Got good grades in high school, and had good act scores...also, being involved involved in extracirriculars help...no essays are needed...sound interested in any essays you may have to write though.

I transferred to this university from a two-year college due, in large part, to CMU's automatic scholarship for high-acheivers. Because I had above a 3.5 at my former school, CMU guaranteed me six credits paid for every semester for two years. That's been nice.
CMU isn't Harvard -- standards for admission are definately within reach to the average person. Work hard, take advantage of the nice, automatic scholarships for transfer or high school students, and ask lots of questions during your university tour/interview.

This university takes anyone...to make a generalization, which may be incorrect, my view is that this university is made up mostly of the rich kids who weren't smart enough to get into any other university in the state (even though this school is amongst the cheapest in the state among other schools its size). This school is going downhill fast in my opinion and lacks academic "sophistication". Remember the phrase "you get what you pay for" - it applies here. Don't waste your time.

A simple application will do...nothing too tricky. Average grades will do.
