Get A's in high school, score over 1400 on the SAT (or whatever the equivilent is on the new scale), and write a decent essay. I you do all this you will get in. The admissions rate is around 20%, not 8% like Yale or Harvard. Computer Engineering | Feb 06 2008 | Work hard, have extracurriculars, write a good personal essay, and be lucky! Admissions are so competitive nowadays; all-around good scores and grades are important, but so is being original and doing interesting, creative things. Don't choose your activities based on what you think will get you into college; choose them based on what you are truly excited about, and be able to convey your excitement through your speech and writing. This is what will make you stand out in the essays and interviews. Amazing essay!!! Set yourself apart...edit, edit, edit
