The Corcoran is amazing but you cant be lazyMay 21 2014Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
The Corcoran is amazing but you cant be lazy and go to school to there. The negative comments I read are mostly bullshit. My professors were amazing and the amount of real world experience you get is amazing. My peers are working at the Washington Post, Nat Geo, and mare than a few included in recent Whitney Biennials. The Faculty makes the place! Plus you get a museum show. The facilites could use some work but honestly there was never anything I couldnt do and I can get overly ambitious with my projects.

Be prepared to do a lot of the workFeb 26 2013Fine Arts - Painting/Sculpture/Photography/etc
Be prepared to do a lot of the work on your own time as you will not be challenged here. You can easily fall into the rut that everyone else does where you become self-absorbed in superficial and meaningless projects that do nothing to prepare you for the working job world after you graduate.

I say again, don't come hereMar 29 2012Design Arts - Industrial Design/Graphic Design/etc
I say again, don't come here. It's a community college of art schools. You will get in, and by the small chance you stay past sophomore year you'll end up hating yourself.
