The selection rate in my major is only aboutJun 08 2006Architecture
the selection rate in my major is only about 7-8 per cent so you will need some kind of monster SAT/ACT/GPA index. but some students get in via the back door by declaring another major and then chumming up with our very friendly faculty.
ACT: 33 SAT: 1620 Male
Do well on grades and testsMay 20 2006Agriculture/Horticulture
Do well on grades and tests. Visit the campus and talk to people.

Do worry about getting inApr 02 2005Electrical Engineering
Do worry about getting in. They want your money. They just wont give you any classes in exchange for your money. Enjoy.
The engineering department is more difficult than others sinceJan 23 2005Electrical Engineering
The engineering department is more difficult than others since most of Cal Poly Pomona's applicants usually apply for engineering, and thus you're up against more competition. Other than that, as long as you have a 3.5+ GPA and 1100+ SAT, you shouldn't have much difficulty. Selectivity is about the same level as CSU Chico and CSU Long Beach, and quite close to SDSU's.
Back when I applied in '99, Cal Poly PomonaJan 23 2005Computer Engineering
Back when I applied in '99, Cal Poly Pomona was fairly easy to get into, however, with the recent budget crunches, CPP will really try to limit their acceptance pool, beginning with Fall 2005 applicants. I had a 4.0 "Cal Poly GPA" and 1290 SAT and got in with almost no problem. Since I had pretty high test scores, I was exempt from all the required placement tests and dived straight into my major. CPP only selects applicants based on GPA and SAT score, so as long as you're above the averages, you should be fine.
SAT: 1290 Male
