Went to community colleges to take all my pre reqs 100 level classes. Much easier and cheaper to get lower division classes at community colleges then at the university level.

Getting into the school is not as hard asMar 18 2017Art & Design Department
Getting into the school is not as hard as you think if you have the grades...getting into a BFA program IS if you don't prepare and CONSTANTLY ask your art teachers to look over your portfolio before you submit it...and I mean like...REDO THE WORK if they tell you to for the sake of your portfolio and stuff. If you don't have a lot of time it can be horrible to deal with but luckily with art it's not the end of the world if you don't get into a BFA program. You can literally take art classes forever after you graduate with a guild or at a community college and build your skill that way....the key with art is always time and money...if you don't have either of those... find a way! You can do it! I believe in you! Get whatever job you can to pay the bills and work on that portfolio...that's the key to getting jobs....and like I said...NETWORKING.

If you have the GPA to get in, just go elsewhereDec 16 2015Accounting
If you have the GPA to get in, just go elsewhere. Its not worth going here to work yourself sick to carry the grades of others and to have your GPA drop due to the unbearable workload. Unless you are the person that does nothing in group projects, then this school is for you! I had a 3.4 GPA before going here, and now Im struggling and trying not to have my GPA drop too low so I dont get kicked out. Staff is unhelpful and assumes you know all the basic building blocks, even though the introductory classes they teach are supposed to help you learn the basics... Go Beach!

Plan ahead with the state budget worsening and maybeOct 04 2012Undecided
Plan ahead with the state budget worsening and maybe go to junior college first to get the GEs out of the way then transfer with only dealing with classes suited towards your major.
