It's so easy to get in. But you really don't want to. This school is a joke.

Getting into Clemson out of state is not difficult given that you've put forward a decent effort in high school. Being accepted in state is more difficult since nearly EVERY kid ranked in the top 10% of their class wants to study here. If you don't get accepted, don't fret, for some odd reason Clemson lets you appeal their decision. It's amazing some of the students they let in after appealing. Really, the key is making good grades (B+/A- average) in difficult classes (Honors/AP/IB), and scoring above 1200 on the SAT or its equivalent on the ACT. Clemson doesn't value extracurricular activities or application essays much. It probably took 20 minutes to complete the essay and personal statement.

Not much, I was a B/C student with a couple of AP courses and I took fifteen minutes to do the application. Thought it would be a friendly southern school, but they are just arrogant and stupid.

Simple recipe to get you into college:May 14 2012Engineering Department
Simple recipe to get you into college:

1) Get good grades, ideally 3.5 or better. If you're below 3.0, the situation is not hopeless; but it will be very difficult to get scholarships and pay for school.

2) Take the SAT, get as high a score as possible.

3) Apply for college. Apply as early as possible. You'll get first dibbs on whatever scholarships are available.

4) Apply for lots of scholarships outside of the University, as many as you can get your hands on.

If you are lucky, you might be able to have college completely paid for.
