Case looks for students who challenge themselves in their high school workloads and who show interest in humanitarian activities (for these students more likely to donate money to the school once they have graduated).

This school has a rather high acceptance rate, but it could also be said that it is a self-selecting school. Extracurricular activities are a large part of the consideration, probably equally as important as GPA and test scores. Financial aid is pretty generous too: if you're in the top 10% of your class and in the 95th or above percentile on the ACT, expect a tasty scholarship. Getting through the first year separates most of the pack (the retention rate is only ~91%). If you get in and want to stay here, you'll have to earn it.
SAT scores are important for scholarshipsMar 30 2006Economics
SAT scores are important for scholarships. Case also accepts a decent number of transfer students, so if you are rejected for freshman admission, try again later.
Case has a lot of students who are the top of their class at public schools or about average at private schools. Honestly, Case will accept you if you have something interesting to offer or if your scores (SAT, GPA, etc) are good enough.
Make sure to take a campus tour before you decide to attend Case. Cleveland is a great city-- if you decide to go to Case, be sure to get involved in things off campus.
