Tips mention:
Interview (5),

Grades (3),
Sports (3),
Essay (1) | Political Science | Mar 14 2010 | Good grades, sports, community service, and leadership are all appreciated. Writing a good essay helps too. Being the child of an alumnus (or two) is probably the best possible circumstances of course. I did well on my SATs, although standardized tests are no longer required. As I said, I did a tour and overnight visit, but I also did an interview. In high school, I did a lot of leadership and volunteer work -- which is important to HC -- and also got good grades. While in high school I tried to take the most challenging courses my school offered, mostly honors and AP classes. Although grades are obviously important, I think Holy Cross is the kind of college that also emphasizes the importance of extracurricular activities...particularly community service. Basically, the more stuff that you can do that shows that you are a nice, caring, smart person, the better! |
