I applied about a year in advance, and financial need and academic achievement definitely factored into my acceptance. Any prospective students should apply ASAP since admission tends to fill up fast. If you enter in the spring semester instead of the fall, that's ok too cuz there's quite a few new students at that time (although not as many as in the fall).
The school has only a 12% acceptance rate, but it has NOTHING to do with your grades or test scores. My roommate has a 14 on her ACT and a 1.9 GPA out of high school. She was as dumb as a brick to boot, and that's kinda what this college likes in a student, especially a woman.
