Essay (0) | I walked in the door. DeVry is in no way a prestigious college, and the retention rate here is a whopping %33! What that means is, they take students fresh out of college and enroll them, then, after they pass a few lower level classes and get to something difficult, DeVry ruthlessly fails them out. 2/3 students at DeVry fail out in the first year! Most of those are mental breakdowns, trust me, I had a front row seat to quite a few of them. DeVry has eight week classes, and content moves insanely fast. For anyone who can keep up with that pace, it is as refreshing as it is useful. But if you miss one step, kiss your ass goodbye! You have to be able to keep up with the pace here, because none of the faculty are going to baby your candy ass.  Computer Engineering
