The Deep Springs application process is conducted in two rounds. Three essays, test scores, and a transcript are requested in the first round.

Forty finalists are invited to take part in the second round of admissions. An additional four or five essays are requested as well as teacher recommendations. All applicants that are admitted into the second round are expected to visit Deep Springs for a four day interview.

The application requires 7 essays. There is no formula. The applications committee consists mostly of students. Writing about "the road less traveled" will get you nowhere. ApCom has not patience for triteness. Your essays need to be mind-blowing.
