I think you need to think beyond grades and test scores. Elon wants students that can achieve academically but also bring something with them to campus. Will Elon be a better place because they accepted you? What do you bring? What can you bring to Elon? Take a chance on your essay. Do not play it safe.

I got into other state schools in Virginia, and as a naive 18 year old boy, I decided Elon was my best bet for success.

I applied early decision and got a scholarship. But I'd say, if you WANT to get in then show how you're involved in a lot of extracurriculars. That goes pretty far on an Elon application.

Advice #1: Reach out to current students at the University (if you don't know anyone, try Facebook message).

Advice #2: Reach out to your admissions counselor immediately after you send in your application. Get to know your counselor - that will help your acceptance rate.

Advice #3: Apply for the Fellows programs. They're incredible.

Advice #4: Visit the University. If you can, stay over night and get a feeling for what it is like.
