Go somewhere else! The environment is stiflingMay 04 2017Business - Management and Administration
Go somewhere else! The environment is stifling. Students backstab, and the leadership of the university is non existent. They are not in touch with the real world. The athletic director has zero engagement and personality. The students pay to go to school and pay his salary yet he walks around and treats people with so much judgement and disdain. A terrible non supportive environment.
Erskine is the only college I applied toAug 20 2011Psychology
Erskine is the only college I applied to. Senior year I was set on going to Erskine. It was mostly because I wanted to sing in the Choraleers under Shannon Jefferies. When she got a better job nobody blamed her for moving on, but the choral program went down the drain. Hopefully with the new director they have hired at least part of it can be salvaged.

I am ARP, so getting in was no problem. I earned a few academic scholarships and a music scholarship. You also get money for being ARP-probably the last time I claim to be an ARP after my time at Erskine.

If you want to go there, visit. Take time to stay in the dorms, talk to the students... maybe they can talk you out of it. Thank God I only have one more year! Cannot wait to graduate and go on to grad school and hopefully have a much better experience.

Apply early to increase your chance of scholarships!Aug 01 2011Music - Performance
Apply early to increase your chance of scholarships! Definitely visit the campus, so that you get a good idea whether the college is a good fit. Stay overnight if you can - I did, and that was the deciding factor for my decision to apply and enroll. Don't stress too much about your test scores and GPA - although they are important, Erskine looks at your entire application to make the acceptance decision. If you have visited, they also get an extra chance to meet you, and I think that often works in your favor for admission, because it gives them more than just a stack of papers to assess.
VISIT!Oct 25 2004Accounting
VISIT! GET FINANCIAL AID! Know that you want to go to college before deciding to go anywhere, much less Erskine. High SAT scores, a good recommendation letter, community/church involvement, and extracurricular activities are a positive influence to get in at Erskine.
