I applied to this school short notice because I decided to leave my last school spontaneously. They let me in non-degree seeking status and after a semester bumped me to degree seeking.

The University was established in 1997 with around 2,000 students and has grown to over 10,000 students. The campus is new and is in a beautiful part of Florida (not far from the beaches). Development and nightlife are growing in the areas around this University. Originally the University was open to all students who wanted to attend but has instituted a cap on enrollment (as mandated by the State). As it reaches it maximum capacity it will become more and more selective.

I was a transfer student so the requirements were different than usual to get it. I did have to have a decent GPA and submit test scores.

Ok. Your a high school senior in Florida and your guidance counsler gives you the inflated admission stats of the state U's. Your thinking to yourself how am i going to get into these schools? Thats what i was thinking too.
Their are many stratagies you can use to get into schools if you dont think your grades are high enough. If you don't think you can get in, apply for the summer term. E-mail the schools with questions and express your intrest in going. They're going to accept the kids they know they can get to come to their school. Thats what i did and I got into FGCU with a 2.83 weighted GPA and a 1040 SAT. I played sports all through high school and wrote a good personal statement.

If you actually want to come here (may God have mercy on your soul), it is not very difficult to gain admission, since they are trying to expand the student body in the coming years. I didn't have to be interviewed and admissions standards are not particularly challenging.

Good SAT scores; substantial GPA. Apply EARLY! If you don't apply/accept early, you will not get housing and it is tough to find cheap, college housing for the not as wealthy students.
