To be blunt, this college is for high achieversNov 16 2011Nursing
To be blunt, this college is for high achievers. If you are not a self-critical A to high B student I suggest you choose a community college. The nursing program is very competitive and the classes are content rich. Do not plan to work while you are in nursing school. If you do, make sure it is part time, definitely less than 30 hours a week. You simply WILL NOT do well. This program requires TONS of self teaching. You class lectures are simply reviews of online lectures you are required to listen to and will be tested on. If you are former military, you will encounter a familiar environment. This program has a low graduation rate, but if you make it through you WILL have no problem with the NCLEX and finding a job. There are a lot of people in my class who should not have wasted their money as they did not put forth the effort necessary. Quite frankly, they really don't belong in the field. I personally feel all programs should be this hard to weed out the folks who enter the field and give it a bad name. If you are big on social life and want to play house with your mate, get that out of your system before you waste your money. Be prepared to have NO LIFE until you graduate. I don't think the college is perfect and I have valid complaints about it, but I also have similar complaints about my previous colleges. Overall, its a fine place to go to school. The campus is clean, safe, and they have a dress code. It's a very conservative environment. If you think college is a place to get dress like a stripper and display your business, its best you attend a local community college.
