Best advice: do well on the ACT/SAT.

I was in the top 5% of my class, 2200 on my SATs, SAT II math 800, chem 720, eng 680, gpa 4.2, 3 varsity sports in highschool, captain of basketball and cross country, involved in many community service projects.

I would recommend taking academically challenging courses in high school and doing well in them. Many students come in with 4 and 5 scores on their AP exams. Taking high level math and science courses are also a good to prepare you for the course load. It also doesn't hurt to score over 1100 on the SAT. The average here for last year's freshman class was 1265. For my class it was 1200, so the averages are going up. Competitiveness is also increasing, so get involved with extracurricular activities and work on improving those essays...

I made sure that I was going where I wanted to go. Then I contacted my admissions officer, and I made sure she knew I wanted to go to Furman. I made sure that my essay was a reflection of me, and I made sure that I did not slack off my senior year. Other than that, I just kept a positive outlook, and hoped that it showed in my application.

good SAT or ACT scores and be a well rounded student!
Education
To get into Furman I was involved with many groups/activities at my school. I did not do so well on my SAT scores, but I was able to balance out my application with other things. Make yourself well rounded and be prepared to study hard!
English
Furman is a great place, but getting in can be tricky. Just make sure that you honestly put yourself forward! And visit the campus definately!
Kinesiology
I only filled out the application and hoped for the best! I would encourage prospective students to contact the Financial Aid office if they are not satisfied with their initial package. The Staff there love to help make the Furman experience possible!
