Based on my grades and test scores alone, I would not have gotten into Goucher. I did however, have a lot of extra-curricular and I consider myself to be a very above-average writer, so my essay was very above-average. Take that to mean what you will as far as admissions goes.
I was very involved in extra-curriculars during high school, wrote a good essay, and interviewed at goucher. My test scores are pretty average, but they are optional at Goucher.
