Tips mention:
Interview (1),
ACT/SAT (6),
Grades (3),
Sports (0),
Essay (1) | I filled out some papers. There was no real screening process. They wanted my former transcripts, but I don't think it would have mattered at all if I had terrible grades. I can't imagine that most of my fellow students ever passed a class at a brick and mortar institution. Hello to others seeking more information... I urge you to continue reading? YOU GET THE GOOD AND THE BAD OF ONLINE SCHOOLS. Getting into this University and others it's all depends on your GPA from previous schools and if your degree or credits are accepted. To regards to others please review all accreditations i.e. if it is national, regionally to other schools if you choose to continue. As reading reviews from previous students (this is something that I wish I would have done prior to attending!) I would recommend researching the top 3 ONLINE SCHOOLS and 3 GROUND CAMPUS SCHOOLS and compare; lets' be serious it?s your money and your time. It will be frustrating and long work but plan accordingly; trust it'll pay off in the long run... ONLINE SCHOOL PROBLEMS: the things they don't tell you... technical support is available but cannot work miracles on your computer (so when it happens and of course it will computer problems) this will count against your grade as late work. INTERNET CONNECTIONS...never say never times are hard for everyone and please note be very considerable; of course you can go to the library although trying to maximize your time will be extremely limited IT IS SLOW and they are not open 24 HOURS A DAY. HOMEWORK it is way more than a ground campus YOU ARE LITERALY TEACHING YOURSELF. You are given a Discussion Question; the instructor is available only on certain times (you would think for an online class there would be someone there 24 hours due to a variety of time zones). HOW CHALLENGING it is not which is very, very, very sad. You would consider the approach of an online class being flexible, friendly, and available to work around your schedule NOT NOT NOT true. Let?s consider the facts... we all are trying to make life and balance the everyday struggles easier; you are going to be faced with all distractions and more going to an online class. Of course it seems very persuasive to give anyone a layout of what sells to your education... but please do not just accept the first answer your academic counselor gives you because truthfully that?s less work they have to do. I say ask those questions and even consider asking the ones when what happens if you eventually do not want to attend or choose to further your education at that University. PLEASE do not settle for that ?verbally?; LETS SEE IT IN WRITING? We all know that polices continue to update so do be extremely proactive and yes that annoying person because once your signature is sealed regardless of the pros and cons YOU are then one to have be STUCK with the LOAN.
WHY I SAY GROUND SCHOOLS
you get more interaction with you instructors, faculty, and one on one attention if necessary; study groups which are meet in person (not on a blank computer).. your better to retain and further your degree with success. The probability of you likely achieving, succeeding, making your education/degree plan is a greater chance... The experience with hands on in a class environment (that is priceless) would you settle for anything less. You would be better going into a classroom because you will learn. Rather than putting a question online and that?s a class. Business - Management and Administration
| Oct 08 2008 | I really wanted to pursue a degree in both nursing and business so this is what drove my decision to attend GCU. I had good grades so that was not an issue. |
