The fact I graduated from a private school priorOct 21 2014Art & Design Department
The fact I graduated from a private school prior to attending college was an advantage for me. There are certain things attending a smaller school that are very different from a large university.
It's easier to make friends, and feel like a huge family vs. a larger school.
However, there were students there who had attended public schools, and did just as well academically as well as socially.
Being one who graduated in 1990 I had to go for an interview prior to being accepted, I'm not sure the students still do this.
If you do go for the interview it's not a time to be afraid/uptight the people conducting the interview were great. There is no real way to prepare for an interview like this because it wasn't an interview on just my academic level. It was an interview on my social life, what I was looking to get out of Gso college other than just a degree.
It's a great way to help prepare students for possible job interview in the future.
Your grades are important especially if you are coming in as a freshman, but while your grades need to be good, you are judged by who you are as a person as well. I don't mean wealth/prestige but who you are in reference to what you have to offer Gso college and what Gso can offer you.
It's a school that invites and encourages participation in outside activities such as helping homeless. I worked one day a month at a soup kitchen while a student and it really helped to open my eyes to how just a little thing can really help someone.
It's a great school... :-)

I don't know what is with all the nasty commentsMay 10 2012English
I don't know what is with all the nasty comments. You have to have a certain GPA to get into this school...just as any other college. Of course the college wants money, all schools do. They need money so that they can improve their campus!
