Essay (23) | Computer Science | Nov 25 2002 | I "breezed" through most of my classes in high school, and ended up not doing excellently in a few of them, most notably English. I attribute my rejection at other universities to this, and I thought "hey Georgia Tech sounds neat, and it's one of the ones I got accepted to," but the truth of the matter is that I would probably be happier at my state university, where I would at least have known a few other people in my classes. If you're working hard to get into a challenging college, try to attend a school that might actually give a damn whether you graduate in under 7 years - not this one. PreVet and Veterinary
| Nov 19 2002 | Very high GPA (3.8 or better) and SAT (1400 or better). Do not apply if you do not know what it is like to work for your grades. Do not apply if you do not know how to manage your time. Do not apply if you are not ready to dedicate yourself fulltime to school, and let work, family, and friends take a bit of a backseat. This is the bigleagues dog.....In you essay, you have to SHOW them you want it bad enough. Make sure you have at least taken calculus and have a terrific math background, also, a generous amount of chemistry and physics. If you don't, they will not consider you. And finally....If at first you don't succeed, then try again after a few college semesters elsewhere. If you do not get in as a freshmen, then TRANSFER in after your first few semesters elsewhere. Make sure to take lots of sciences, maths, and physics at the interim school so you prove to Tech you have the background.
Remember:
Tech is more likely to take you as a transfer because you are less of a risk, you have proved yourself elsewhere, and they know you will not drop out. Freshmen are a high risk, all these dumb kids out of high school who don't really know what they want to do are the risky ones. Aerospace Engineering
| Nov 18 2002 | There really isn't much to getting. You must have good grades, good scores and be active in your communitity and in your school. They only ask for a personal statement, and everything else is almost like a formula. Computer Engineering
| Nov 18 2002 | Not hard to get into, very easy application. |
