GW doesn't care about the individual applicant, they care about the numbers. If you're a language major with high verbal and writing scores, but a low math score, you'll probably be waitlisted. Basically, the poster student with the 2000+, top 10 percent of the class, did a sport all 4 years, but did nothing special will be admitted. Also, minorities will be admitted and given better financial aid than others regardless of qualifications, sad but true. The university is trying to "diversify". Truly interesting or eccentric students who have narrowed interests, like the exchange students, will be waitlisted. Certain majors, like foreign language majors, are severely shorted, so there will be maybe 5 majors to certain languages, yet 100s in the college majoring in something else.

It was my super-safety school, and since they offered me 30 grand merit aid to go here, I did.

32 ACT
5, 4, 4 AP
700, 720 SAT II

(But its not hard to get in, because there are TONS of idiots that go here.)

Admissions people are great. Only thing is - they advertise that GW is very diverse, academically-oriented and "traditional" (as in, like other colleges). This is not true:
GW is gay central (good thing)
GW is made up of rich kids (not good if you're poor)
GW is a drug-addicted, nightlife-centric culture
There are approximately 3 black people, one of whom is biracial and my roommate.
