Biggest tip to getting in: Make as many official inquiries into the school as possible. Call them. Many times. Find current students to talk to. Visit--several times if you can. Most importantly, INTERVIEW. Admissions keeps a record of these things and it shows you really care about going to GW. I had a great interview and I found out later that my interviewer really lobbied on my behalf, and that a huge impact on my acceptance into the School of Media & Public Affairs (the most selective school here--not bragging) and the honors program. DO THE INTERVIEW AND BE YOURSELF. It's SO worth it.

Part of the fun is how little you can do on campus and how much fun you can have in the city. Go to the museums, to adam's morgan, Dupont circle and just get off at some stop in the metro and walk around.
If you're into the school activities, check out the plays (audition for some) intramural sports or varstity, politically charged groups, or start your own. (It's really easy to start your own club here)
