Kept my high school gpa up and took both the SAT and ACT. Also, an essay is required with your application. Be involved in high school and if you aren't, be open and willing to join new clubs/organizations in college. Interview at Hollins is generally laid back yet provides you with lots of information. Definitely come for an over night visit and meet your admissions counselor.
To get into Hollins, I concentrated on my essay. In my opinion a college essay needs to stand out, even if it makes it sound unprofessional. Knowing that Hollins was a creative writing school, my essay sounded more like a story than an academic piece in some places.
