If you want to get in: Do lots of volunteer work. HC is HUGE on volunteering-- the students logged around 28,000 hours my junior year. Also, it helps to visit the campus. The music program is growing, too-- so if you can play anything, let them know.
History/Histories (art history/etc.)
Good ACT and/or SAT scores don't hurt. Letters of recommendation are highly recommended.

Study hard, get good grades, get high scores; the average class scores go up every year. But remember that they look at the whole student. You can have great scores and still get rejected. They are looking for intellectual, thinking people who seek to be good members of society, not just people with lots of little As on their report cards.

Very easy to get into if you scored well in HS. The staff is wonderful to work with.

Its easy to get in. No specific steps necessary.

Focus on your grades, and your essay. Communicate what is important about you, and what is important to you.
