Essay (1) | Political Science | Apr 03 2012 | Well, once I told the Admissions Office that I was an Eagle Scout, I received a free application and a scholarship. This institution is not hard to get in to but it is extremely hard to stay in. My freshman work compared to the freshman work of my friends at big, public degree factories such as VT or JMU made their schools all look like 7th grade. Toot your own horn, sound honorable, sound interested, and sound independent when applying.  Good SATs, good grades, being professional at the interview. I have heard it is easy to get in but hard to stay. One freshman on a scholoarship flunke dout this year. Classes are very demanding and one cannot hide- that said- great profs and very accessible, low student to prof ratio- no grad students teaching classes. PreMed and Medical
| Oct 04 2010 | Work hard, Do well on your SATs/ACTs, and get involved within your community. HSC gives students who may not have the best grades a chance to perform here-but they have to prove themselves in other regards such as service. |
