Absolutely nothing. If you want in it's not difficult, but once again I suggest you become an alcoholic redneck before trying to blend into campus life...soooo tired of hearing a bunch of over privileged white kids complain about the EVIL Obamacare!!!!

HSU isn't very selective and if you have average grades in high school then I don't think you'll have a problem getting in. Particularly now that HSU is celebrating its 100th anniversary and that it is trying to grow the student population (more than the facilities can handle IMHO), there are lots of spaces available for incoming students. If you want to live on campus, apply early. There is definitely a housing shortage.

This school is super easy to get into. As long as you have a 2.0 for in state students (2.4 out of state), you are basically in.

Getting into Humboldt is easy. Try to get a 3.0 in high school and take AP classes, so you don't have as many GE requirements to fill in college. Now that the school is impacted with incoming freshman, meaning that more qualified people are applying then they can admit, it has been a little more competitive.

I had a 3.85 GPA and worked hard in high school but you can get in easily with a 3.00 or lower.I honestly wanted to attend a big school such as Cal Berkeley, Cal Poly, or Oregon State. I never thought of HSU until I saw a flier for it and decided to visit for the fun of it. I fell in love as soon as a I got on campus and decided to not even apply to the other schools. I definitely recommend visiting before attending.
