They definitely focus on extracurricular activities and how you spend your time outside of school. This University is looking for passionate applicants, who can also keep up with the rigorous curriculum.

The institution looks for well-rounded students who supply ample data in their application exhibiting familiarity with the university (multiple visits are encouraged). Financial aid is adequate; it certainly assisted me in attending. However, if financial problems abound in your life, be hesitant in considering IWU as your school of choice.

Wesleyan is very open and has a pretty laid-backAug 28 2010English
Wesleyan is very open and has a pretty laid-back admissions process. It is free to apply, so there's no reason not to. With that said, despite their very easy-going application process, they do have pretty high standards. Grades are important.

But, because Wesleyan is so small, they don't look at applications the same way a large-scale public university might. Wesleyan doesn't care so much about ACT scores. They want to see personality in your personal essays and extracurricular/volunteer work. So make sure you emphasize these aspects of your application. They are what will set you apart from other students.

If you're involved in high school and hold decent grades, chances are you'll get in with no problem.

Grades, test scores, and class rank are quite importantMay 11 2009Psychology
Grades, test scores, and class rank are quite important. However, the essay is also strongly emphasized since it's a smaller, more personal school. They look for students who show interest in the school. Visit a couple times if possible... they keep track of that.
