I transferred from a much more competitive institution for non-academic reasons. I was only 17 when I started college, and was pressured by my parents and others to make their choice instead of mine. Then, I made the mistake of attending JCU because it was close to home. I suggest you take your time and postpone college until you decide what is right for you.
Most people get in. It helps if your gpa is 3.0 or higher. It helps if you're out of state. It helps if you have a few extra curricular to round out your application, and it helps if you show any interest in your application. You'll probably get in.
John Carroll is easy to get into. If you have over a 2.5 and a 18 on your ACT, you should be fine. They offer a lot of scholarships too, but they usually only last for one academic year. Make your college decision about where you see yourself doing the best, not about money.
