I took the most challenging classes my HS offered and did well in them. I also interviewed with the Dir. of Admissions when she came to my home town. The Admissions at Kenyon is like no other..very supportive and the communication is amazing.

Grades, essay, SATs, interview, campus visit, and probably in that order. They want to see that you have passion.
English
Kenyon stresses writing and linguistic skills, and so the essays submitted to the college seem to be important. Extra-curriculars also help, as do above-average verbal SAT scores. Artistic or creative talents are greatly apprecicated.

BE YOURSELF! Don't go crazy... From what I hear the admissions is quite good at sniffing out who they want... But sports involvement, art, grades and scores (obviously) are important. Typically gpas are something over 3.8 (think Dartmouth or Cornell), and they say the mid range is 28-32, but a safe score is a 34 on the ACT.
Philosophy
I had an admissions interview, and submitted the common app. I was moderately to seriously overqualified for its statistics, which is not unusual. You tend to find two groups of people. 1) People who are not so bright, but try really hard. This is the majority. 2) People who are certainly bright enough to go to a top-tier university, but are getting a huge scholarship or did not get into their first choice, or just like the traditional European teaching style at kenyon better.

Just be yourself, and do well in HS. Yeah, come here.

I was statistically overqualified for Kenyon, didn't put much effort into the application because of that.
PreMed and Medical
Well, Kenyon is a highly selective Liberal Arts College. I actually did quite well in high school. You really need high test scores, the grades, and the essay. Although, they do a great job at looking at their applicant as a whole and not a number from a formula. The essay is truly important as well as your recommendation. However, I have done stuff like start new programs in high school, research and volunteer at hospitals, and held many leadership roles in school and community activities.
Psychology
applied early, high board scores,2 sports, founded a club, and had an interview...HAVE AN INTERVIEW, this school seems to care a lot about how much interest a prospective student shows.
Psychology
I got rejected at first with a 4.5 GPA and a 2250 on the SATs... and I did early decision! But I got in as a transfer student from Weslyan. My essays were pretty generic the first time and I never did an interview... I realize now that those were two of the things that are most important to Kenyon (although of course GPA and SATs are key).
