| | I was told by my admissions counselor (after I was accepted ED) that I was basically accepted during my interview. While Kenyon is beginning to focus more on scores as there are more applicants, there is a larger focus on the interview, essay, and recs. If at all possible, interview! It shows your personality better than a gpa, shows your interest, and if your scores weren't great it can really boost your chances. I wrote essays -- spoke to my H.S. guidance counselor.
I also applied early admission.
Emphasize the unique things about you! Kenyon is always trying to diversify its students.
Kenyon stresses writing and linguistic skills, and so the essays submitted to the college seem to be important. Extra-curriculars also help, as do above-average verbal SAT scores. Artistic or creative talents are greatly apprecicated.
