Showing interest (visit campus, interview) is probably the most important thing you can do. Take a difficult course load in high school (honors and AP courses) and do well in those classes. Be involved in extracurricular activities in high school, preferably with leadership experience

Make sure you visit and do an on or off campus interview. Both are really important and will put you about other students applying. Visiting is vital, and often will be a deciding factor over whether or not you are accepted. Admissions is looking for students who are interested in coming here, and not just using this as one of their back ups, so if you're interested, show it!

When I applied to Lehigh I was a transfer with a 2.9 GPA. My SAT scores are okay, nothing spectacular. I think me being a minority helped quite a bit acually. I also think the essay is very important. I sued the essay to give a better view of myself and got a little personal. Though some may not want to do so, I think getting personal in the application about experiences makes you more than paper but a real person.
