Volunteer in your own community even if it isn't that often and they are little projects. In the space that is optional on any things you want to point out that may not be on the application write something.
Took the SAT's (I didn't do amazing, but they have a decent acceptance rate) If you want to go here but aren't 100% sure...visit a few times, and take advantage of the orientation of the summer where you can sleepover and get a feel for what it's going to be like during the actual school year. That didn't really help me much considering I'm leaving but if you want to get a feel for dorm life, than it's a good idea.
