Well, of course a very high level of proficiency in your instrument/field of study is required. Aside from this, if you are able to contact a faculty member with whom you would like to study and ask for a lesson, this might help your chances in that the teacher is able to assess your ability outside of the 10 minutes you are given for your audition.
